  27. I never said that I want them to donate a card to me for nothing. What
  28. I have in mind is what C= used to do. As a developer I was able to
  29. negotiate a reasonable loan on new models of equipment. I would have
  30. a board on loan for 3-6 months, at the end of this term I either had
  31. to return the board to C= or they would invoice me for it. I can't
  32. see why this could not be the case with other companies.

  34. Send a Delfina board on a 6 month trial period, while I have it I will
  35. write the software for it. If I want to keep it after 6 months I will
  36. have to pay for it, or negotiate the exchange of the board for the
  37. license to include the software with Delfina, or some other mutually
  38. agreable arrangement. If on the other hand I am not impressed with
  39. the card after 6 months, I return it then or earlier. Variations on
  40. the theme are possible, but the basic idea is the same. It also helps
  41. the makers of the board to do some REAL market research, to see if
  42. people are interested in actually paying for the product.
